Information on how and why we collect customer data.

We are not intentionally collecting, storing or using any information from users who visit and browse our website. Only when a user voluntarily fills out any of three forms on the website, do we collect, store and utilise the information provided.
We’ve recently added analytics to basevan.com to track overall website traffic. We do not track individual users. Please read section 5 for further details on the analytics platform we use and how we use it.
The information we collect is split in to three categories for ease of categorisation and comparison. The information is split by the three means of contact that we currently have on the site.

In this form we collect the following personal information:
We use the provided name and contact information to contact prospective customers regarding their vehicle request. We use the year the customer acquired their license to determine which available vehicle they can legally drive.
In this form we also collect the following non-personal information:
We use this information to find the customer a suitable vehicle from our range of vehciles currently in stock. This information is not used to identify an individual, however it is used to determine the direction of the sale between ourselves and the customer.

We use the provided name and contact information to contact prospective customers regarding their vehicle request.
In this form we also collect the following non-personal information:
We use this information to identify the vehicle that the customer is interested in. This information is not used to identify an individual, however it is used to determine the direction of the sale between ourselves and the customer.

We use the provided name and email address to contact prospective customers regarding the date and time they’ve booked to visit.

We use Salesmate CRM to collect and store the data from the enquiries we receive via our website. We use Salesmate Web Forms to create the contact forms listed in ‘2. What we collect and why we collect it’, above. These Web Forms are directly linked to our CRM, which means no data is stored on our website and is instead passed directly to Salesmate.
The data we collect through the website via Salesmate Web Forms will not be given away, rented or sold to any third parties. We use this data solely to aid us with the sale of our vehicles.
We are not interested in tracking individuals at all, we’re only using analytics to get a better idea of how our website is working.
We are using Plausible.io to collect aggregate data from website traffic. It is not possible to track individuals with Plausible. Instead we collect analytical data to establish an understanding of website usage that cannot be used to identify any individual person.
